Overview: Jonathon C.A. Blevins, Esq. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008. Admitted to practice in the United Stated District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern District of Florida. Also, admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
Education: University of Florida, 2005 (Dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees: Political Science & Criminology). Barry University School of Law, 2008 (Juris Doctorate).
Experience: During law school, Mr. Blevins was involved in the Trial Advocacy Team and Moot Court Honors Board. As an advocate he competed in four total competitions. The competitions included the Texas Young Lawyers Trial Advocacy Competition, Chester Bedell Memorial Mock Trial Competition, The Craven Memorial Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition and the New York City Bar National Moot Court Competition. The competitions provided an opportunity to hone his writing and advocacy skills. Further, he was selected to lead the Moot Court Honors Board by being selected as the Chief Justice. Mr. Blevins was awarded the Outstanding Graduate award from the Honors Board.
Before joining KEL, Mr. Blevins was an Assistant State Attorney in the 5th Judicial Circuit of Florida. While prosecuting the laws of Florida, he handled cases ranging from second degree misdemeanors to first degree felonies-punishable by life. The cases covered the spectrum from basic criminal traffic infractions to serious, violent felonies. He was responsible for all motions, hearings, depositions, and trial of all assigned cases. Mr. Blevins received invaluable experience with a case load constantly in excess of one hundred cases. During his tenure at the State Attorney’s Office he represented the State in over twenty jury trials and countless adversarial hearings.
Currently, Mr. Blevins is an Associate with Kaufman, Englett, & Lynd practicing in the area of foreclosure defense.
